STATE Optical Co. was founded in 2012 by cousins Marc Franchi and Jason Stanley, who traveled the world to research the best machinery and techniques before opening their own factory in Ventura, California. In 2014, the cousins partnered with eyewear executives Scott Shapiro and Jerry Wolowicz to create the world’s first truly American luxury eyewear brand.
