Richard Mewha and Rick Nelson established an unlikely professional friendship while colleagues at the Optical Shop of Aspen (OSA). Richard relocated to the USA from England and found an affinity for literature, music, and film; Rick grew up in America’s midwest and learned all about the business while working behind the counter of his father’s optical shop. Bevel’s founders came from very different backgrounds, but they realized what each partner brought to the table and decided to go into business together.
Richard Mewha leads Bevel’s design team to create contemporary eyewear that stays current with aesthetic trends and the cultural zeitgeist. Rick keeps the other facets of the business running smoothly, and they create beautiful fashion eyewear from high-quality materials. Bevel’s designers are committed to maintaining a classic but minimalist aesthetic and constantly seeking new ways to create innovative products that look, fit, and perform better.
