STATE Optical Co. is a brand fueled by an intrinsic motivation to accomplish the improbable and blaze its own path despite evidence that “it can’t be done.” In 2012, cousins Marc Franchi and Jason Stanley traveled the world and researched the best machinery and techniques to manufacture high-quality eyewear in the United States before constructing their own factory in Ventura, California. In 2014, Marc and Jason partnered with experienced eyewear executives Scott Shapiro & Jerry Wolowicz to create the world’s first truly American brand of luxury eyewear. Every pair of frames is truly unique, and frame designer Nico Roseillier draws from both classic American styling and high fashion while boldly challenging convention.

STATE has a passion for creating frames deserving of the individuals who wear them and believes that people should be recognized as much for what they do as what they wear. Its first-of-its-kind eyewear is constructed from premium components, and over 50% of the production process is done by hand in Chicago, Illinois. Each frame undergoes an arduous process of 75+ steps over hundreds of hours and is subjected to a rigorous quality assurance inspection before it leaves the factory.

STATE style takes strong cues from high fashion, with twice-yearly collections (Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter) and exciting capsule collections throughout the year.
